Diaspora Voter Registration

The Kenya High Commission in Kigali wishes to inform that the  Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will carry out a  Diaspora Voter Registration for Kenyans in Rwanda in readiness for the  Kenya General Election to be held on 9th August, 2022. 

2. The Voter Registration will take place from 21st January to 4th February,  2022, including weekends, from 8.00am – 5.00pm at the Kenya High  Commission Chancery building located at KG 7 AVE. 25, Boulevard de l’Umuganda, Kayciru, Kigali. 

3. Requirements for Registration include the following 

∙ Must be a citizen  

∙ Possesses a valid Kenyan Passport or a National Identity Card 

∙ Aged 18 and above 

∙ Should allow his/her Biometric and biographic data to be taken during  registration  

4. During the exercise, Kenyans previously registered in Kenya will have an  opportunity to change their voting station to Kigali. 

5. Registered Kenyan citizens will only participate in voting for the Presidential  elective position.  

6. The High Commission will adhere to Covid-19 prevention measures  instituted by the Government of Rwanda including verification of vaccination status of attendees. 

7. The High Commission will continuously disseminate updates on the  upcoming Voter Registration exercise through its social media platforms and  website.
