The Kenya High Commission in Kigali wishes to inform the Kenyan Diaspora in Rwanda that the State Department for Interior and Citizen Services, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government of the Republic of Kenya has launched a Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) to clear backlog of applications for issuance of Citizenship and Permanent Residence within sixty days from 2nd June 2021 to 31st July, 2021.
The initiative applies to people in the following categories:
- Kenyan citizens who hold dual citizenship
- Kenyans who had renounced or lost their Kenyan Citizenship before promulgation of the new constitution
- Spouses of Kenyan citizens
- Investors who have applied for Citizenship and Permanent Residence
To apply for Kenyan Citizenship or Permanent Residence, applications should be submitted online on https://fns.immigration.go.ke and hard copies dropped at the Immigration Headquarters on the Ground floor, Nyayo House and at any Kenya Mission abroad for onward transmission to the Headquarters. Citizenship applications can also be emailed directly to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government via kenya.citizenship@immigration.go.ke

The High Commission urges applicants who wish to declare, regain or renounce citizenship to take note of the deadline for submission of their applications.
